Reflexão da nossa saída ao Rio Mira em Sª Clara... 

[PT] A nossa saída de campo correu conforme as nossas espetatívas, pois obtivemos informações sobre os ecossistemas locais e a influência das atividade humanas sobre estes. Pudemos observar as  e as interligações do meio com os seres vivos e perturbações existentes no rio.
Conseguimos recolher muita informação em cada dos diferentes pontos da nossa caminhada. A informação mais interessante no 1º ponto, foi a de sabermos que os grupos voluntários conseguiram encontrar uma solução, com o auxílio da Junta de Freguesia, (que há anos queria resolver este problema com a ARH) para limparem a matéria orgânica acumulada no fundo do rio. No 2º ponto consideramos interessante saber como nos devemos orientar num rio, ou seja, identificamos que jusante era em direção à foz e que montante era em direção à nascente do rio. No 3º ponto achamos engraçado, apesar de não ter graça, que, o rebaixamento previsto não tenha sido conseguido, porque não foram realizados os cálculos necessários para que funcionasse. Outro aspeto que retivemos foi que o rio é um sistema aberto sujeito a constantes transformações. As várzeas existetnes nas margens do rio denominam-se leito de cheia. No 4º ponto, existe uma comporta de emergência, que serve para quando existir uma contaminação ela seja libertada da tapada. Da tapada à saída de emergência, observamos alguns excrementos de lontra. Na saída de emergência encontramos lagostins jovens. Perto do rio podemos observar uma vegetação densa por causa da matéria orgânica que favorece o seu desenvolvimento. No antepenúltimo ponto, avistamos a vegetação típica da zona ribeirinha que são: Salgueiros, Loendros, Freixos, tamargueiras, Acácias (invasoras) e o Amieiro. Encontramos esta vegetação durante o caminho da margem esquerda até à Ponte D. Maria.  No penúltimo ponto, observamos a linda paisagem do património municipal em cuja restauração foi muito mal feita e que as suas envolventes não fazem qualquer sentido com a paisagem. Por fim consideramos importante o Lagar que é um exemplo de arqueologia industrial, agora em ruínas, mas que poderia ser aproveitado para aí ser instalado um museu que retratasse a vida de Santa Clara-a-Velha e do seu rio ao longo dos tempos.

Reflection of our field trip...

[English] Our field trip went according to our expectations, we were talking about the local ecosystems and human activity and through the interconnections with the existing ecosystems and the disturbance from the river.
We managed to collect a lot of information on each of the different stops of our journey. The most interesting information on the 1st stop are, the groups volunteering people managed to find a solution: with the help of the Parish Council, who wanted to solve the problem years ago, and with the ARH they cleared the organic matter accumulated on the riverbed. At the 2nd stop we considerd interesting how you can guide your self with the stream, by downstream or upstream. At the 3rd stop we find funny, although it isn't really funny, that the demotion was not well done, because they didn't do calculations necessary for it to work. At the 4th stop near the fennel, is located an emergency exist gate which serves to release the water if there is an contamination. From the dam to the exit of emergency, we observed some otter droppings. In emergency exit we saw crawfish, near the river is an extensive vegetation because of the organic matter. At the 5th stop, we saw the typical vegetation of the ribeirinha zone, these are: Willows, Loendros, Freixos, Acacias (invasive) and Alder. We find this vegatação along the way from the left edge until the Ponte D. Maria. At the 6th stop, we observe the beautiful view where the restoration was very poorly made and their surrounding make no sense with the landscape. Finally we consider it important that the Flood is a case of archaeological industry, which if it would be reopened it wuold be in excelent conditions to exercise their activity and how those lands that were around it do not have an individual holder.
